a simple animated card layered ontop of the skybox as well as some passing space debris all to make the space feel more alive

The final skybox
This was the second skybox for Orion Drift. This one evolved over time changing each week for 4 weeks on the lead up to Halloween with the final update exploding one of the stars and eclipsing the main light source darkening the whole station.

The skybox was composed in Unreal by layering various cards and 3D assets in a spherical environment. This allowed it to be captured as a cubemap for use in game. Nebula cards were rendered in Blender using a volumetric material workflow. Supporting textures were made in Photoshop.
